Employee Performance Review Policy

    GOALS AND SKILLS-BUILDING PLAN

    Clearly defined goals should be scheduled for employees for each quarter (substitute “year” in this form, as well as the included template if these are conducted on an annual basis). The goals should match departmental and company priorities and should be within an employee’s ability to meet.

    It isn’t sufficient to say someone should “learn Cisco routers” but rather outline what skill set they should achieve in this area by the end of the quarter. “Demonstrate the ability to install and configure a new Cisco router to replace an existing company device” is more subjective and attainable. The manager should then monitor progress for the goal as it is worked on and achieved, and prepare a rating for the goal.
